Job Title:
Natural Resources Scientist/Wetlands Specialist
Position Summary:
This position is a part of a team who assists industrial clients in collecting, monitoring, analyzing, and providing scientific understanding about natural resource conditions, issues, and problems while maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
Using your technical skills, you will:
- Perform wetlands determinations/delineations according to USACE protocol and surveys for various species for biological and hydrological projects
- Perform field work such as vegetation assessments, habitat assessments, monitor construction activities, and perform inspections of stormwater BMPs
- Prepare General and Individual USACE Permit submittals relating to Sections 10 and 404 of the Clean Water Act
- Utilize computer software such as ESRI, ArcMap 9.3, ArcGIS Server, ArcIMS, Google Earth, Microsoft products to include Word, Excel; Internet Explorer; Access; and Adobe Illustrator
- Prepare letter reports, compliance documents, NEPA documents (CE, EA, EIS)
- Analyze data to determine validity, quality, & scientific significance, and to interpret correlations between human activities & environmental effects
- Operate equipment such as GPS, Laser Range Finders; Transit Levels
- Work in a variety of outdoor settings and weather that may require long periods of standing; walking over rough terrain; working in water; recurring bending, reaching, or similar activities. Work may also include frequent lifting of moderately heavy items, such as equipment that weighs up to 50 pounds
- Travel in and out of state 25% of the time
Education/Experience:
BS/BA in Biology, Aquatic Science, or related Environmental Science degree with 5 to 10 years experience in natural resources services with specific experience in:
- Interpreting and applying Section 404 of the Clean Water Act (Nationwide and Individual) Permitting
- Assessing and permitting linear projects (pipeline, transmission corridors, transportation)
- Communicating with clients USACE, USFWS, and TCEQ
- Conducting Biological Assessments as per USFWS
- Proven communication skills (verbal, written, proposal and presentation)

Job Title:
Air Environmental Engineer/Scientist
Position Summary:
This position is a part of a team who assists industrial clients in establishing and maintaining compliance with state and federal air quality regulations by performing air quality and environmental compliance tasks.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
Using your technical skills, you will:
- Assist industrial clients in establishing & maintaining compliance with state & federal air quality regulations.
- Perform air quality & environmental compliance tasks, including preparation of New Source Review & Emissions Inventories.
- Define data requirements, then gathering & validating information. Communicate scientific & technical information through oral briefings, written documents, workshops, conferences, & public hearings.
- Prepare charts or graphs from data samples, providing summary information on the environmental relevance of the data.
- Prepare air quality permit applications, permit by rule registrations, & permit renewal, amendment, & alteration applications for submission to the TCEQ & other agencies.
- Collaborate with company employees including professionals & managers to ensure successful implementation of chosen problem solutions;
- Analyze data to determine validity, quality, & scientific significance, & to interpret correlations between human activities & environmental effects.
- Obtain, update, & maintain plans, permits, & standard operating procedures. Create process flow diagrams.
- Perform project management, including financial management, contract negotiation, performing and directing technical work; client and regulatory liaison.
- Must have well developed interpersonal skills and demonstrate excellent communication skills (verbal, written, proposal and presentation) and abilities.
- Proficient in compliance & regulatory compliance management software for assessment of air quality impacts, Microsoft, Excel, Access and air modeling data bases.
- Travel required up to 20% of the time.
Education/Experience:
B.S. or a Masters in Environmental or Chemical Engineering or related degree plus 7-10 years of experience as an Environmental Engineer
