Environmental Engineer/Scientist
Position Summary:
This position is a part of a team who assists industrial clients in establishing and maintaining compliance with state and federal air quality regulations by performing air quality and environmental compliance tasks.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
Using your technical skills, you will:
- Assist industrial clients in establishing & maintaining compliance with state & federal air quality regulations.
- Perform air quality & environmental compliance tasks, including preparation of New Source Review & Emissions Inventories.
- Define data requirements, then gathering & validating information. Communicate scientific & technical information through oral briefings, written documents, workshops, conferences, & public hearings.
- Prepare charts or graphs from data samples, providing summary information on the environmental relevance of the data.
- Prepare air quality permit applications, permit by rule registrations, & permit renewal, amendment, & alteration applications for submission to the TCEQ & other agencies.
- Collaborate with company employees including professionals & managers to ensure successful implementation of chosen problem solutions;
- Analyze data to determine validity, quality, & scientific significance, & to interpret correlations between human activities & environmental effects.
- Obtain, update, & maintain plans, permits, & standard operating procedures. Create process flow diagrams.
- Project management, including financial management, contract negotiation, performing and directing technical work; client and regulatory liaison.
- Must have well developed interpersonal skills and demonstrate excellent communication skills (verbal, written, proposal and presentation) and abilities.
- Proficient in US EPA approved models, such as AERMOD, CALPUFF, SCREEN 3, TANKS, MIRS Compliance & Regulatory compliance management software for assessment of air quality impacts, Microsoft, Excel, Access and air modeling data bases.
- Travel required up to 25% of the time.
Education/Experience:
B.S. or a Masters in Environmental, Civil or Chemical Engineering or related degree plus three years of experience as an Environmental Scientist/Engineer.
