8-hour Incidental Spill Training Course  The goal of this 8-hour course is to educate employees in the first responder operations level of hazardous materials emergency response as required by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration's HAZWOPER Standard 29 CFR 1910.120. Employees that are expected to respond to hazardous materials release in a defensive fashion without actually stopping the release, contain the release from a safe distance, keep the spill from spreading, or prevent exposures, should attend this course prior to dealing with a release and annually thereafter. This course will cover:

  • Federal regulation requirements for managing hazardous materials
  • Recognizing chemical hazards
  • Procedures for maintaining a safe work environment
  • Personal protective equipment
  • Safety precautions for handling chemicals
  • Cleanup methods for an incidental spill release
